With over 800 teaching and training hours completed, Lauren is currently enrolled at Maryland University of Integrative Health to complete a Master's Program in Yoga Therapy. With this degree, Lauren will be able to more completely integrate her knowledge into helping others. She has also completed her Level 1 training in iRest, which is a healing modality that the VA hospitals use treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
In May of 2017 she will begin her adventure with Thai Yoga Massage.
She is very committed to growing and learning more about yoga’s mind, body and spiritual benefits. She had longed to be able to open her own studio to have the freedom to create the kind of environment she felt did not exist in other studios where she taught, one that incorporates art, yoga and an energy of healing. She was able to make that a reality at the end of 2013 with the purchase and renovation of the Lotus Moon building in downtown Chambersburg.
He then served as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps stationed in Virginia, California and Arizona.
After the Marine Corps, he spent the next 20 years as a sales and marketing executive in the diagnostic healthcare market living and working in Orlando, FL.
Michael returned to Chambersburg in 2011 where he reconnected with Lauren. He and Lauren started dating and focused their energies on helping the revitalization of downtown Chambersburg. Their purchase of the Lotus Moon building in October of 2012, and subsequent renovation, put everything in place for the creation of Lotus Moon Gallery and Yoga. Michael has a great love and appreciation for the arts and enjoys adding yoga practice to his exercise regimen.
Dianne Elsom, LCSW, Meditation Facilitator, received her Graduate Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD in 1994 and her certification in Meditation Facilitation from Yama Therapeutics also in Baltimore, MD in 2012. In 2006, Dianne opened her private psychotherapy practice, CenterPoint Counseling and Consulting, where she works with all ages, individuals and couples to support positive behavioral health, communication and overall healthy living. Practicing spiritual contemplative traditions of the mind, body and spirit herself for many years, Dianne received a first degree black belt in martial arts, Kenpo Karate, in 1996 and then her second degree in 2013. Sharing her clinical and holistic practices to the broader community, Dianne founded The Fundamentals of Mindfulness Meditation for Everyday Living Program in Chambersburg, PA in 2012.
